Vortex Shedding Meter Principle: An ultrasonic beam, located downstream from a small strut, is transmitted through the vortex pattern. As the vortices travel through the beam, they modulate its carrier wave. This signal is immediately processed electronically which provides an exact reading of the flow rate. Because the number of vortices formed is directly proportional to the rate of flow, it provides a highly accurate and extremely useful method to determine flow in a wide range of applications.

These meters measure the volumetric conditions using a patented ultrasonic method of counting vortices and then incorporate the RTD temperature sensors and pressure transducers to calculate the mass flow rate. Digital signal processing filters external noise for a stable measurement. Missing pulse detection provides accurate measurement at low flow conditions.

A two line LCD indicator for rate and total readings is available. HART Communications allows diagnostic status information to be displayed on a computer or HART Communicator. Various engineering units are available for setting along with useable rescaling feature.

Offered in wafer, insertion, and inline styles, we can provide a vortex flow meter for the most demanding application requirements.
